How Cat Helps Clients
Cat (they / them) provides strategic and practical guidance to clients on the responsible use and development of artificial intelligence (AI), handling information, and navigating regulatory compliance in technology and privacy. With legal experience handling complex technology transactions, negotiating contracts, and advising on everyday operations issues, Cat utilizes this broad background to maintain a comprehensive view of the challenges surrounding emerging technologies, particularly at the intersection of AI, privacy, and healthcare regulation. Cat keeps pace with evolving governance schemes, including the European Union's AI Act, NIST guidance, and U.S. Executive Orders, ensuring clients can adapt quickly to developing areas of law.
What Clients Can Expect
Clients can expect Cat to break down complex legal and technological concepts into manageable action items. Having served long-term as a legal consultant and secondee to a multi-billion-dollar health system then technology company respectively, Cat brings an "in-house mindset" that considers a client’s daily operations to spot potential compliance issues before they become problems.
Cat is a strategic partner who collaborates with cross-functional teams—including legal, compliance, clinical, and product—to design pragmatic governance frameworks. Whether navigating HIPAA and GDPR, structuring data-use arrangements for research and model training, or negotiating a license and business associate addendum for a new AI tool, Cat provides business-oriented legal guidance aligned with the client's operational constraints.
My goal is to take the 'mystery' out of AI and data privacy, providing the technical clarity and legal confidence my clients need to lead their industries.
