WE LOOK FOR DIVERSE & EMPOWERED TALENT
Everybody at Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney lives by a few principles that make our firm unique. These core values guide our decisions and influence our relationships and partnerships with our clients, our neighbors and each other. We truly believe in these values and demonstrate them every day.
Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC is committed to a policy of equal employment opportunity for all individuals and takes affirmative action to ensure that it does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, non-job-related disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, citizenship status, or any other classification, as protected by federal, state or local law. Equal employment opportunity extends to all personnel practices.
WE MAKE WELLNESS A PRIORITY
Buchanan has proudly signed the American Bar Association’s Well-Being Pledge. This campaign, organized by the ABA Working Group to Advance Well-Being in the Legal Profession, is designed to improve mental health and support lawyer well-being by providing a healthy work environment.
Shortly after joining the campaign, the firm launched its own holistic wellness program entitled, WorkWell. The program provides employees with benefits and resources across a multitude of areas including, Mental Health & Stress Management, Health & Nutrition, and Work/Life Synergy. As part of this initiative, the firm has partnered with third-party providers such as Aaptiv, a digital health app that provides access to unlimited audio and video classes including yoga, meditation, barre, Pilates, sleep and much more, to bring wellness programming directly to its employees.
Buchanan’s WorkWell Committee also engages employees through virtual support teams, informal collaborations for employees who are similarly situated in life to share experience and advice with one another. Current groups include parents of elementary school children, parents of infants or children up to two year olds, parents of toddlers, and individuals who are independent or solo living. The Committee also hosts firm-wide wellness-related CLEs and events that inspire wellness such as virtual 5Ks.
From a support perspective, the WorkWell Committee continually evaluates the landscape of firm policies and practices to identify opportunities for improvement. Additionally, the Committee partners with other key areas within the firm, including the Diversity & Inclusion Council and Associate Committee to provide support and resources to our team members. With an employee-first vision, the WorkWell Committee’s mission is committed to ensuring that Buchanan’s workforce is not just succeeding but thriving.
