Scott M. Angelo

Scott is Buchanan’s Chief Information Officer. He is responsible for the design, implementation and management of the firm-wide information technology and risk management platforms. A dynamic leader, Scott manages the firm’s IT team to further develop technologies to drive creative solutions for the firm and its clients. Scott brings more than 30 years of experience to continue to support the firm’s high-performing culture and efficient client service through an innovative digital infrastructure. He was recognized by the Pittsburgh Technology Council as a finalist in the 2024 CIO of the Year Awards. 

Specifically, Scott leads the firm’s efforts on technology strategic planning, digital transformation, advanced data management, innovation, and security and data privacy management.

Prior to joining Buchanan, Scott was the Chief Information and Technology Officer at global Am Law 100 law firms where he led global technology modernization and digital transformation projects. Notably, he ran a client-facing digital innovation center in Pittsburgh that replaced a formerly decentralized IT department. Additionally, he has extensive experience in building digital centers of excellence for law firms and clients, such as predictive analytics, and robotic process automation that support business objectives.

In addition to the legal industry, Scott also has experience supporting the IT platforms of companies in the high-tech manufacturing, government, and financial services industries.
