Sean W. Moran, Co-Chair of Buchanan's Energy Section, will present "Natural Gas Challenges & Opportunities" as part of a panel at the Northeast Energy & Utilities Conference in Somerset, NJ on September 10, 2012. This conference is hosted by Deloitte.

The presentation description follows:

Natural gas produced from shale formations has appeared just recently to become an inexpensive and abundant resource for meeting U.S. energy demand in the future decades. Nevertheless, the environmental impacts and related costs are causing a concern that the industry is not managing the drilling process well enough to reduce fears from the disposition of the hydraulic fracturing fluids. Additionally the current low natural gas price and reduction in drilling activity has raised questions on the viability of supply long term as demand lags with excess supply and warmer winters altering the market dynamics. There are also bottlenecks in getting this newly found resource to the market. The panel will bring together industry executives and analysts to provide perspectives on this transformational topic.
