PHILADELPHIA – May 8, 2017 – Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney has named Marc Tepper as the head of its Philadelphia office, the firm’s second largest by headcount. Tepper, a shareholder in the litigation section, has been with the firm for more than 20 years and also currently performs other executive functions in the firm. He is a member of the firm's Associates Committee and has chaired the firm’s reinsurance and insurance practice group for over a decade.

“Marc’s energy, vision and resolve make him the ideal choice to lead our Philadelphia office. I know he will bring a fresh management perspective and successfully guide our growth strategy in Philadelphia,” said Joseph A. Dougherty, CEO and Managing Director of Buchanan.

Tepper will continue executing Buchanan’s growth strategy for Philadelphia, which has recently expanded its client base in a significant way.

Tepper is a seasoned financial institutions and insurance industry attorney, with more than 25 years' experience. In 2016, Tepper was selected to represent the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico in constitutional and jurisdictional issues of first impression and has a long history of representing government clients in the Caribbean He previously, represented the Government of the U.S. Virgin Islands in the landmark $205 billion dollar settlement with the tobacco industry.

Tepper also previously served on the Board of Governors for the Philadelphia Bar Association and served as President of the Philadelphia-Israel Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on the regional United Way Cabinet. He has been recognized as a Band 1 leading lawyer in Pennsylvania by Chambers USA.
