John A. “Jack” Barbour served for seven years as the firm's CEO, Managing Director and Chairman of its Board of Directors. He also served as Executive Chairman for over four years. Jack focuses his practice on real estate development and financing, as well as complex commercial transactions. He also advises and counsels high-net-worth family businesses.

Jack has served as a Life Trustee of Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh for many years. Jack currently serves as the Chair of the Museums' Building and Grounds Committee. Jack is a Trustee of the University of Pittsburgh and served as Chairperson of its Property and Facilities Committee from 2016 to 2020. Jack served on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania from 2014 to 2022, having served as Chair from 2015 to 2017.

In 2011, Jack was appointed by Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett to serve as chair of his Advisory Council on Privatization and Innovation.

Jack has been a trusted advisor to the Pittsburgh Steelers for many years. He has represented developers, lenders and equity participants in a wide range of sophisticated commercial real estate transactions over the past several decades. Jack has served as counsel to a large private equity company for much of his legal career.

Jack was appointed by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court to the Pennsylvania Lawyers Fund for Client Security from 2015 to 2021, where he served as Vice Chair from 2018 to 2020, and as Chair from 2020-2021.

Since 2009, Jack has been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® under the Real Estate Law category. Jack is the recipient of the 2020-21 National Association of Corporate Directors (Three Rivers Chapter) Leadership in Nonprofit Governance award.
