Thomas A. Bergstrom was mentioned in multiple media outlets for a recent case before the state Superior Court in Philadelphia involving the defense of a former Catholic Church official convicted of endangering the welfare of children.

Arguing before the state Superior Court, Bergstrom told a three-judge panel that prosecutors did not make the case that former secretary for clergy in the Philadelphia archdiocese, Monsignor William Lynn, had any contact with children under Pennsylvania’s endangering-the-welfare-of-child statute, reported The Legal Intelligencer and Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Lynn was convicted in June 2012 of endangering the welfare of an abuse victim by assigning defrocked priest Edward V. Avery to a parish where he was later convicted of abusing an altar server.

The case is currently waiting a Superior Court Decision.
