Jennifer Olmedo-Rodriguez joined host Michael Putney at the roundtable on "This Week in South Florida," Sunday, May 31, following the United States and Cuba making a major move toward normalizing relations on.

Olmedo-Rodriguez told the roundtable that Cuba was described to them on the trip as an emerging market. "There are certain inherent risks in investing in Cuba because it’s an emerging market. Those risks are present in countries today where investors are heavily involved. They equated it to China, to Vietnam. And there are risks. There are certainly risks. But there are the potential for very high rewards, and so each company needs to make that decision on a case-by-case basis," Olmedo-Rodriguez tells the roundtable.

"I think it’s going to be a slow process, and something we’re going to have to take step by step and see how it evolves," she told the host regarding the relationship between Cuba and the United States.
