An article in the Pittsburgh Business Times titled, “Cloudy Skies in Aereo Forecast,” discusses Aereo, the web-connected TV streaming service. The company “uses antennas the size of dimes to capture signals sent over airwaves by local affiliated stations and redistributes them to its customers,” the article reports.

On April 22, the U.S. Supreme Court heard opening arguments in American Broadcasting Companies Inc. v. Aereo Inc., a case which centers around the broadcasters’ claim of copyright infringement by Aereo.

Buchanan Shareholder David A. Gurwin told the Pittsburgh Business Times that if Aereo sees a victory, the possibility of Congress stepping in to amend the Copyright Act in a way that would make Aereo’s operations illegal, is “a very real possibility.”
