A recent Pittsburgh-Tribune Review article highlights how the Pittsburgh Pirates’ winning season helped boost multiple charity efforts through the popular demand of simple 50/50 raffles. The fundraising efforts have proven to be crucial to organizations such as the Miracle League of Southwestern Pennsylvania, which builds and runs baseball fields for those with special needs.

With six Miracle League fields in Western Pennsylvania, the charity is very youth and family oriented. Pictured in the article titled, “50/50 Raffle Ahead of the Game for Pirates Charities,” is shareholder Terry A. Shulsky, a manager at the Cranberry Miracle League field.
