In recognition of National Family Caregivers Month, Buchanan’s C.A.R.E. Affinity Group is hosting a special program exploring the journey of Empty Nest Syndrome and the transitions that often accompany caregiving and identity shifts.
We are excited to feature Shari Leid — a former attorney turned author, life coach, and speaker — who brings a deeply personal and inspiring perspective to the conversation. Adopted as an infant after being found in a box and raised by a Japanese American family, Shari shares her remarkable story through her keynote, “Flip the Box," followed by a conversation moderated by Buchanan's Chief Experience Officer, Lloyd Freeman.
Through the keynote and interview, Shari invites attendees to reflect on how life’s “boxes” — our roles, expectations, and challenges — can be transformed into “tables” that foster connection and growth. Through themes of self-discovery, purpose, and community, she will share strategies to help individuals navigate identity transitions such as becoming an empty nester or adjusting to evolving caregiving roles.
