How Michelle Helps Clients
Michelle helps healthcare providers achieve their operational and business goals in a challenging regulatory environment. Her clients include health systems, community hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, dialysis centers, physician groups, federally qualified health centers (FQHCs), managed care entities and long-term care providers.
Michelle advises clients in transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, affiliations and other strategic transactions. She counsels clients regarding compliance with the Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, False Claims Act, HIPAA and tax exemption laws. Michelle has extensive experience advising health systems and physicians on integration and alignment strategies, including the formation of clinically integrated networks (CINs) and accountable care organizations (ACOs), with particular emphasis on related quality and peer review matters.

- Served as lead associate for health system merger resulting in a fifteen-hospital system with over $5 billion in combined revenue.
- Counseled health system in a whistleblower-prompted investigation of hospital-physician arrangements.
- Managed HIPAA privacy and security matters for various health system and hospital entities, including several children’s hospitals.
