Litigator Stuart Slotnick Quoted on Iran’s Argo Lawsuit by Fox News, Deadline.com

Iran is reportedly looking to sue Hollywood for “unrealistic portrayal” in the Oscar-winning movie Argo, but Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney litigator Stuart Slotnick sees the suit as little more than talk.

“The thought that the makers of ‘Argo’ may be sued by the powers that be in Iran should not be given serious thought,” Slotnick explained to Fox News. “Nothing will come of this misplaced idea, not in [the United States].”

There is no word as to which parties would be sued or who would have jurisdiction over the case, though Slotnick speculated to Deadline.com that “perhaps those in power in Iran will decide to bring a lawsuit in another country where the movie received distribution.”
