As reported by a number of news outlets on November 10 and 11, 2010, Governor-elect Tom Corbett announced on Wednesday his transition team, which includes three professionals from Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, including CEO John "Jack" Barbour. The announcement was reported by various publications such as The Philadelphia Inquirer, Associated Press, CapitolWire, Observer Reporter, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Hartford Courant and the Pocono Record.

In addition to naming Barbour to the group as a co-chair of the transition team, Corbett also announced that Buchanan State Government Relations professionals Tom Paese and Leslie Gromis-Baker will serve as co-directors of the transition team.

Corbett explained that the transition team will help him shape his administration as well as draft a plan for reforming state government by his first week in office. Corbett, who is to be sworn in January 18, reiterated that his top priority will be to present a balanced budget and resolve the state's projected $4 billion deficit.

An article published in the November 10 edition of CapitolWire also reported on the announcement, describing Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney as "the biggest and most politically-influential law and lobbying firm based in Western Pennsylvania."
