Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney chief diversity & inclusion officer Lloyd Freeman argues that hiring and promotion data only tells part of the story. "I think it’s important to separate diversity and inclusion when you’re measuring them. For me, diversity is a quantitative measure. You simply look at the amount of diverse attorneys within your firm," Freeman says. "Inclusion, on the other hand, is qualitative. That has to be measured, I believe, by speaking to your people within your organization."
