PITTSBURGH (November 2023) – Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney has been named a Top Performer and Compass Award winner by the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD), which recognizes law firms and corporations that show a strong commitment to building a more inclusive legal profession.

The Top Performer Award recognizes organizations in the top 20 percent for participation in LCLD programs and activities, while the Compass Award recognizes organizations that fulfill all of the following requirements in a single calendar year:

  • Member (Managing Partner) engagement with LCLD.
  • Nomination of an LCLD Fellow.
  • Nomination of an LCLD Pathfinder.
  • Participation in an LCLD Pipeline program (the 1L Scholars Program or the Success in Law School Mentoring Program).

While the firm proudly participated in numerous LCLD programs and activities throughout this year, a few of the key events included hosting two separate Leadership Lunches where Joe Dougherty, Chairman and CEO of the firm spoke with LCLD Fellows alongside James Turoff, Senior VP, General Counsel and Secretary, The Hershey Company; and Duane Holloway, Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer, U.S. Steel. The firm’s participation was further enhanced through a number of events organized by Tina Hu-Rodgers, counsel and Life Sciences Industry Group Co-Leader, who serves as an LCLD Washington, DC - City Lead.
