PITTSBURGH – November 10, 2021 – Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney is proud to announce that it has received two industry awards for its ongoing commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. The firm was named a Compass Award winner by the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD), and was named to the Diversity & Flexibility Alliance’s ‘Tipping the Scales’ list.

The LCLD Compass Award recognizes law firms and corporations that show a strong commitment to building a more diverse organization as well as a more inclusive legal profession overall. LCLD is one of the nation’s leading organizations promoting diversity and consists of more than 350 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners.

The firm is equally pleased to have been named to Diversity & Flexibility Alliance’s ‘Tipping the Scales’ list, which recognizes law firms that have 50% or more women in their 2021 U.S. based new partner classes. The Diversity and Flexibility Alliance is a think tank that collaborates with organizations to develop non-stigmatized flexible work policies that promote inclusive work cultures and help to advance more women into leadership positions.

“We are extremely proud to be recognized for the steps we are taking as a firm to create a more inclusive and diverse workplace,” said Lloyd Freeman, Buchanan’s Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer. “What makes these two recognitions even more special is that they are action-focused. We aren’t just talking about D&I, we are putting policies in place to ensure that Buchanan is a leader in the space and is doing its part to help even the playing field within the legal industry as a whole.”
