PITTSBURGH – July 14, 2022 – Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney is pleased to announce the addition of Aura, Burlington Stores and Temple University Health System as participants in the second year of the Diversity Corporate Share Program. The other companies that continue to participate in the program include The Hershey Company, PNC Bank, Panasonic, and South Jersey Industries (SJI).
“We’re thrilled to add Aura, Burlington Stores, and Temple Health to our Diversity Corporate Share Program this year,” said Lloyd Freeman, Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer. “In this competitive legal talent market, this program sets Buchanan apart. It is gratifying to work with our clients and corporate leaders in bringing more opportunities to our talented and diverse summer associate class.”
"I'm thrilled to partner with Buchanan Ingersoll and Lloyd Freeman as part of the Diversity Corporate Share Program,” said Damien Atkins, Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel at Aura. “Programs like this are critically important for developing the pipeline of future diverse leaders of the profession."
“SJI embraces diversity and inclusion as an integral part of the company’s culture and core values,” said Eric Stein, Senior Vice President & General Counsel at SJI. “We’re proud to join with Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney on their Diversity Corporate Share Program where we have the opportunity to strengthen our workforce with additional diverse talent while also helping to develop the leaders of tomorrow.”
The program pairs the firm’s summer associates, each with a participating corporation for a two-to-four week period, giving each the additional experience of mentorship opportunities from corporate legal counsel.
“At Buchanan, our goal is for our summer associates to get a 360-degree view of the legal profession,” said Danielle Rosetti, Chief Talent Officer. “With this program, the law students have the opportunity to embed themselves with a client and understand their point of view, and it is our hope, they take that experience to better understand client service and apply that in their future law practices.”
Buchanan’s summer associate program is an eight-week experience that welcomes students who are considering a career in a large, full-service firm. In addition to the Diversity Corporate Share Program, the summer associates work closely with Buchanan attorneys and have an active role in determining their assignments if they have a strong interest in one area of law. The program also offers networking and professional development opportunities. The 2022 class includes law students from Boston University School of Law, Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law, Duquesne University School of Law, Penn State Dickinson School of Law, Temple University Beasley School of Law, University of Pittsburgh School of Law, Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, and Wake Forest University School of Law.
