On October 19, Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney Intellectual Property Shareholder Matthew L. Schneider was quoted in The Washington Post. The article, titled “Fast-track Patent Program Helps Businesses Sue Patent Infringers,” covers how businesses can take advantage of filing patent applications more quickly to enforce their legal rights.

The new system, called Track One, charges companies an additional fee based on a sliding scale in hopes of having their patent approved more quickly, reported the article. “If you’re willing to spend a little money, you can jump in line” Schneider told the publication. “That could be worth a heck of a lot to a company that has developed a really interesting, important technology that someone else is infringing.”
