PHILADELPHIA – January 3, 2017 – Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney announces that Salvatore G. Rotella, Jr. has joined the Firm's healthcare practice as a shareholder in the Philadelphia office. Rotella, previously at Reed Smith, represents hospitals, ambulatory surgical facilities, and behavioral and other healthcare providers in reimbursement disputes with government and commercial payers, managed care contracting negotiations, and internal investigations. He also advises providers on regulatory, compliance, and privacy law issues.

Rotella began his legal career as a clerk to the Honorable Boyce F. Martin, Jr. on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. In addition to working at several well-known law firms, he was also a trial attorney in the Commercial Litigation Branch of the U.S. Department of Justice and served as chief compliance officer and regulatory counsel for the District of Columbia's Department of Mental Health. Rotella is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School where he served as editor of the Law Review. He serves on the Board of Managers of the Ralston Center and of the Joseph J. Hill Ralston Mercy Douglass House.
