Rick leads the firm’s business development and marketing team in developing strategic initiatives to drive growth, with a focus on practice development, client engagement and brand strategies. Throughout his career, he has led high-performing teams that were tasked with building integrated marketing strategies that drive revenue and growth across diverse client segments. With experience leveraging innovation, data and insights to inform marketing decisions, Rick is committed to advancing Buchanan’s long-term growth strategy and enhancing client experiences.

Rick brings more than two decades of experience in marketing and business development within the financial services and legal sectors. Before joining Buchanan, Rick was the Chief Marketing Officer at one of the nation’s 50 largest bank holding companies where he built a dynamic team of specialized experts and strategic marketers. His leadership was pivotal in evolving the bank’s marketing strategies to incorporate data-driven and digital approaches to drive client acquisition and retention. Rick also previously served as the Director of Business Development at a global Am Law 100 law firm headquartered in Pittsburgh. In this role, he successfully spearheaded marketing initiatives and collaborated with firm leadership to enhance brand visibility and grow client relationships within key industry verticals.

Rick began his career at a leading national bank, where he held various marketing roles over 11 years, gaining comprehensive experience in both business-to-business and business-to-consumer marketing. His ability to craft compelling value propositions and manage complex marketing campaigns has consistently driven results and maintained strong brand identities across customer segments.
