Nicole M. Calabro is the Director of Legal Recruiting at Buchanan, where she leads the strategic expansion of attorney talent across the firm’s 18 offices nationwide. With a relentless drive for excellence, Nicole oversees all facets of high-level recruitment, including shareholder and counsel hiring, as well as the firm’s national associate recruitment strategy. Through her efforts, the firm attracts and retains top legal talent that drives performance across key markets and practice areas.

As a trusted advisor to firm leadership, Nicole partners closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Talent Officer, Chief Experience Officer, Executive Shareholders, Hiring Partner, and Hiring Committee. Her strategic insights shape firm-wide recruiting priorities, succession planning, and national growth initiatives.

Nicole also leads the Legal Recruiting Department, managing associate-level recruitment and directing Buchanan’s highly competitive summer associate program. She collaborates cross-functionally with the Professional Development and Attorney Integration teams to ensure that every new hire is not only top legal talent but also a strong cultural fit who thrives in a collaborative and inclusive environment.

Before transitioning into legal recruiting, Nicole spent over 15 years as a commercial litigator at two prestigious Am Law 100 firms. Her experience as a practicing attorney provides her with a unique and invaluable perspective on the evolving talent needs of high-performing legal teams.

Nicole earned her B.A., summa cum laude, from LaSalle University and her J.D., cum laude, from Widener University School of Law. She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
