The Philadelphia Inquirer and the Philadelphia Business Journal blog noted Litigation Shareholder Joseph A. Dougherty's recent appointment as co-managing shareholder of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney's Philadelphia office.

As explained by the Philadelphia Business Journal, "Dougherty was part of Klett Rooney Lieber & Schorling when it merged into Buchanan Ingersoll in 2006. He manages a team of 28 lawyers that handle trade secrets and restrictive covenant law."

The journal also spoke with Howard Scher, Philadelphia's incumbent managing shareholder, regarding Dougherty's appointment. According to the article, Scher said having two managing partners "allows both to continue an active practice," while addressing any needs the 66-attorney office may have.

The Philadelphia Business Journal also noted the firm's lateral hiring spree, which totaled 18 lateral attorneys and government relations professions — including Barry Siegel and Mollie A. McEnteer — being added to Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney's ranks.
