John McGrady's article, Clawbacks — Effective Deterrent or Effective Remedy?, was recently published in the April 25, 2011 edition of the prestigious BNA Tax Management Memorandum. The article was co-authored with former Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney colleague, Kristen Miller.

The article explores the current legal landscape governing the recoupment of executive compensation, and also provides an analysis of the various design considerations to evaluate when implementing a clawback policy. McGrady previously presented the article to the Tax Management Advisory Board at its annual meeting in New York City where the article received very favorable reviews from the practitioners in attendance.
