An article in the Pittsburgh Business Times announced that Uber Technologies, Inc. was given the green light to operate in Allegheny County by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission on Thursday, August 21. The approval allows the ride-share service to legally operate in the county for the next 60 days.

"We thank the PUC for listening to the people of Pittsburgh and ensuring they continue to have access to the safest ride in town. We look forward to continuing to work together to find a permanent home for ridesharing in Pennsylvania," said Uber spokesman Taylor Bennett.

Buchanan’s Karen O. Moury, Of Counsel, and Government Relations Professionals Kim Pizzingrilli and Robert L. Shuster assisted Uber in obtaining the emergency temporary approval to operate.
