On January 25, 2011, Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney attorney Edward John Allera participated in San Diego CONNECT's Public Policy Forum on wireless health care reimbursement and regulation.

Officially titled "Practical Approaches to Wireless Health Innovation: Diagnostics, Delivery & Cost," the program covered the many questions facing the developing wireless health care, including the viability of wireless health devices, the ability of private-sector health care companies to develop sound business models that support wireless health delivery and the adaptation of federal reimbursement strategies to fit the fledging market.

The firm co-hosted the event with San Diego's CONNECT. The topic attracted a standing room-only crowd that participated in "a discussion on the practical intersection between wireless health innovation and the application of…innovation" in day-to-day practice.

Allera, a Buchanan shareholder, kicked off the morning with a presentation on practical implementation methods for wireless technology devices in today's health care system, and suggestion as how to develop increased demand for wireless medical devices.
