Buchanan Adds Healthcare Shareholder in Chicago
CHICAGO (January 2026) - Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney’s national healthcare practice is expanding with the strategic addition of Jean Marie R. Pechette as a shareholder in its Chicago office. Pechette focuses her practice on sophisticated healthcare technology-based transactions with an emphasis on information technology, data privacy and cybersecurity, and intellectual property law matters.

With more than 20 years of experience, Pechette serves clients ranging from start-ups and emerging growth companies to health systems and multinational Fortune 500 companies, including industry leaders that offer software, hardware, cloud computing platforms, online advertising, search engine technology, artificial intelligence, and other advanced technology products and solutions.
She has negotiated numerous technology transactions worldwide, primarily focused on licensing, cloud computing, data use and content development and licensing, reseller arrangements, software development, strategic alliances and acquisitions. She also has substantial intellectual property experience. She has provided advice and representation on intellectual property due diligence, creation, protection and licensing.

Pechette was previously a division general counsel at a global transformational medical technology company. She worked on products from design to launch, handling intellectual property strategy, negotiating acquisitions, regulatory compliance policies, and cybersecurity and data privacy protection programs.
