Jonathan Spadt, shareholder and co-chair of the firm's Intellectual Property section, will participate in a panel entitled "AI, National Security and Economic Competitiveness - Impacts on Trade Policy " during the upcoming Global Series hosted by the Federal Circuit Bar Association. He will be joined by Jennifer Schulp, Director of Financial Regulation studies at the Cato Institute’s Center for Monetary and Financial Alternatives; Sarah Hammer, Managing Director of the Stevens Center for Innovation in Finance and Senior Director of the Harris Alternative Investments Program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania; Matt Hayden, VP, Cyber and Emerging Threats for Intelligence and Homeland Security at General Dynamics Information Technology, and former assistant secretary for cyber, infrastructure, risk and resilience policy at the Department of Homeland Security; and Tatiana Alves, a partner at RNA law in Brazil, and has extensive experience with complex litigation in the area of intellectual property law, including SEP litigation in Brazil.

The panel will discuss tensions between AI and national security and how potential tension affects trade. They will also discuss how all three priorities - AI, national security and economic competitiveness - can be aligned to support healthy trade.
