We are pleased to bring you the spring edition of The Buchanan Bond alumni newsletter. It’s hard to believe we are nearly four months into the new year!

It has been a busy time for our Buchanan team. Over the past few months, we have rolled out our second annual Culture Report, welcomed new and distinguished team members and, most recently, gathered in Orlando for a wonderful firm-wide retreat that brought together all of our attorneys and government relations professionals from across the firm.

The theme of our retreat was ‘Embracing Change. Empowering One Another.’ Having all of our team members together in one place was a great experience. We spent time discussing our new strategic plan, charting the future path of Buchanan, as well as participating in fun team building activities and making memories that will last for years to come. What struck me the most from this experience is the incredible talent we have in place here at Buchanan. Despite our attorneys working in different offices or sections, the internal relationships that our lawyers share are truly remarkable. We are fortunate to be the beneficiaries of a firm culture where folks are not only willing to collaborate, but they seek out opportunities to work together and empower each other.

Beyond BuchananAlumni Updates

I recently completed the 2023 World Marathon Challenge, a logistical and physical challenge to run seven marathons on seven continents in seven days. I ran in Novo (Antarctica), Cape Town (South Africa), Perth (Australia), Dubai (Asia), Madrid (Europe), Fortaleza (South America) and Miami (North America). The clock started with the first marathon in Antarctica and ended when I crossed the finish line in South Beach.

Looking forward to the celebration of the 10th Anniversary of founding Cherin Law Offices, P.C. Still actively practicing law and enjoying it! Still enjoying the company of former Buchanan Ingersoll alumni (Paula Zawadzki, Ron Basso, Nat Hunter, Jon Allegretti, Ron Frank, Ron Schuler, James Barnes (congrats on your retirement) and recently, Deb Walrath!

The Bucks County Board of Commissioners approved Amy Fitzpatrick as the new County Solicitor, effective April 24th. Solicitor Fitzpatrick will serve as the County's first female County Solicitor.

I made member this year at my Seattle-based firm (Williams Kastner) and have been focusing on representing design professionals (architects, engineers, etc.) and sureties in construction disputes, while still handling other commercial litigation (partnership disputes, etc.). I am living and working remotely in Los Angeles (Santa Monica) helping my girlfriend Alexa, who is in a pain fellowship at UCLA, and her family with some health issues. I've take up CrossFit, Hot Yoga, painting, and improv while here. We take hikes and enjoy music shows. We may end up back in Seattle - TBD.
