Former Colleagues and Friends,

We are pleased to bring you the Fall edition of The Buchanan Bond alumni newsletter. Personally, this is one of my favorite times of the year. As we embark on Thanksgiving and the holiday season, we are reminded of the importance of gratitude and encouraged to reflect on what we are fortunate for.

This year, I have immense gratitude for all of the folks that make up the Buchanan family – from our administrative staff, attorneys, government relations professionals and clients – and to each of you, our valued alumni. I am truly proud to be a part of this network.

This feeling has only grown greater over the past few months. Earlier in November, each of our offices came together for our annual Day of Service where we donated food, packed it into boxes and delivered them to local nonprofits. Some offices also spent time serving food and working in shelters. It’s truly inspiring to see the Buchanan team’s desire to give back and support their communities.

We’ve also been fortunate for the opportunity to come together through numerous events over the past few months. Internally, we bonded at our Diversity Retreat, Associate Training and Mock Trial events. Outside the office, we brought together clients, friends, and alumni for new firm events such as our Life Sciences Summit and annual events including our Healthcare Insider Symposium, as well as a number of receptions at recent industry conferences.

In closing, thank you all for being a part of our Buchanan Bond. I am grateful for your participation and look forward to connecting further in the year ahead!

Beyond BuchananAlumni Updates

Below are personal and professional updates from former Buchanan colleagues sharing everything from where they work and reside now – to updates on children grandchildren and more.

Audrey Glickman, who was a well-known and highly respected secretary in the Pittsburgh office for more than 15 years, was recently featured in HBO Max’s Tree of Life Synagogue documentary. Audrey, a survivor of the attack, shares her experience and raises awareness about the events that transpired that day.

Former Buchanan colleague, Jerry Richey, was inducted into the 2022 Pitt Athletics Hall of Fame. Pitt still recognizes Jerry as the finest distance runner in it’s track and field history. Read more about Jerry’s achievements here.

Former Buchanan colleague, Rhea Law, has had a busy few months! Rhea was recently recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow and awarded the Service Above Self Award by the Rotary Club of Tampa. She was also named an honorary member of the Eta of Florida chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, the oldest and most respected undergraduate honor society for the liberal arts and sciences in the United States. Additionally, Rhea was featured on Tampa Bay Business Journal’s Florida Business Minds podcast, where she discusses her vision for the University of South Florida.

"I retired from my position as the Assistant United States Trustee for the Western District of Pennsylvania, which I held from my departure from Buchanan in 1999 through July 2022. I now serve as an attorney in the U.S. Trustee's office."

"I am fully retired. My term on the Pa. PUC expired last Fall. Heavily into the grandparent business, now with three. Two girls in California, ages 2 1/2 and 2 weeks; one boy in Kansas City, age 11 months. I am traveling a lot, playing plenty of golf and tennis, and getting involved in some volunteer efforts. And fortunately I am quite healthy. Best to all!"
