A registered U.S. patent attorney with more than a decade of experience in patent law and a Master’s degree in electronic engineering and automation, Tanya focuses on patent preparation and prosecution, as well as patent opinions, in the electronic, electrical, electromechanical, and computer software fields. She has drafted and successfully prosecuted to allowance hundreds of patent applications related to wireless communication modules, semiconductor modules and fabrication, automotive and aircraft electronics and control systems, autonomous driving, Internet of Vehicles (IoV), Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, machine learning, welding systems, battery technology, medical devices, diagnostics and imaging equipment, electrical motors and control circuits, image processing, payment processing, optical sensors, optical filters, lenses, and imaging systems, household appliances, refrigeration and cooling control systems, printers, and digital interfaces.

At the beginning of her legal career, Tanya clerked for a Business Court judge and then practiced law for three years in Nevada, primarily in the areas of business and commercial litigation, gaining experience in court procedures, client counseling, alternative dispute resolution, and transactional work.

Prior to her legal career, Tanya was an electronics and automation engineer at the Research Institute for Magnetic and Optical Systems in Sofia, Bulgaria, where she was involved in developing an automated system for design of electronic components.

What Clients Can Expect

Tanya’s mission is to help clients protect their innovation and achieve their business goals by delivering high-quality, cost-effective, and strategic solutions.  She assists individuals, startups, and companies of all sizes in developing and managing their intellectual property portfolios with a personalized approach that clients appreciate.  While Tanya is always available for friendly discussions and interviews with USPTO examiners or opposing counsel, she does not hesitate to assert and pursue clients’ positions with pre-appeal, appeal, or litigation.

In today’s global economy, protecting, commercializing, and enforcing IP assets surpasses national boundaries. My multicultural perspective and experiences in engineering, litigation, and intellectual property laws uniquely position me to help domestic and international clients protect and commercialize their products, services, and brands while avoiding costly disputes.

Outside the Office

When not working, Tanya enjoys spending time with her husband Rex and their Shiba Inu dogs, traveling and competing in American Kennel Club (AKC) conformation dog shows. She is the Committee Chair of the Breeder Directory Education Program (BDEP) of the National Shiba Club of America (NSCA) and an aspiring AKC judge.
