The Herald Standard reported in a recent article that the Fayette County Zoning Hearing Board determined that Laurel Mountain Midstream Operating is “in compliance with county regulations and did not have to obtain special exception permits as cited in a January violation notice issued by a county zoning officer.”

The article titled, “Board Dismisses Violation Notice,” stated that a violation notice was issued advising Laurel that their compressor related equipment “must be located on the same property or a special exception permit obtained to continue operations.”

“Because natural gas pipelines are not subject to regulation under a zoning ordinance, the notice of violation must be dismissed,” Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney Shareholder Shawn N. Gallagher, who represents Laurel Mountain, said at the zoning board hearing.

The board members approved the dismissal of the violation notice.
