John P. Warner, shareholder in Buchanan's Tax section, was quoted extensively in a Bloomberg Law Daily Tax Report article regarding the June 9 victory by Medtronic Inc. in the U.S. Tax Court. In fact, one of John's quotes was used as part of the article's headline - "Medtronic Ruling ‘Back to the Future,' Tax Attorneys Say"

“It's a bit like back to the future, if you read some of the 1980s transfer pricing decisions before we had detailed regulations,” said John Warner, a partner with Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC. “First the court would say ‘a pox on both your experts.' And then it would say ‘because we don't have much to go on, we have to make our own judgments.' ”
