How Mackenzie Helps Clients
Mackenzie is a skilled litigator with more than a decade of trial and appellate experience in both state and federal courts. She serves as Buchanan’s co-chair of the Consumer Class Action Team, and her practice focuses on complex civil litigation and antitrust matters. Mackenzie regularly counsels clients regarding the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act and antitrust compliance and has represented clients in class actions and multidistrict litigation.
Mackenzie often serves clients in the consumer goods industry, and she has represented clients in matters related to consumer fraud, false advertising, complicated contractual claims, misappropriation of trade secrets, and other business disputes.
Mackenzie also assists clients involved with financial services in a wide variety of matters, including contractual disputes, deceptive trade practices, fraud, and other business tort claims. She has defended clients in actions alleging professional negligence and breach of fiduciary duty.
Mackenzie serves as co-chair of the Litigation Associate Training Program. In addition, she previously served on the Firm's Associate Committee.

Total immersion from the start. Mackenzie helps clients with high-stakes, complex litigation, and becomes fully entrenched in their business to understand her clients’ perspective and legal objectives. She relies on her experience and her complete understanding of the business to provide candid and practical advice to her clients, equipping them to avoid problems where possible and overcome the challenges they already face.
Outside the Office
Mackenzie is committed to giving back to the community. She dedicated time to pro bono representation on behalf of KidsVoice and clients of Neighborhood Legal Services and the McKees Rocks Legal Clinic. Mackenzie previously led Buchanan’s participation in the Custody Conciliation Project, a signature project of the Pittsburgh Pro Bono Partnership.
Mackenzie previously served on the Board of Directors for the Mid-Atlantic Mothers’ Milk Bank, which is the region’s first donor milk bank to serve the neonatal intensive care units and babies of Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Mackenzie grew up in State College, Pennsylvania. She resides in Mt. Lebanon with her husband, two sons, and two dogs.

- Represents consumer products manufacturer in monopolization litigation brought by competitors and purported class action plaintiffs, including successfully defending against a preliminary injunction seeking to block new product launch.
- Obtained preliminary injunction on behalf of steam iron manufacturer in a suit over a competitor’s false advertising claims. The Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit affirmed the order in a precedential decision.
- Successfully defended leading provider of financial counseling services in a four-week arbitration alleging professional liability claims.
- Favorably resolved breach of contract and professional negligence claims on behalf of financial services provider.
- Represents brokerage firms in federal and state courts and before various arbitration forums, including FINRA.
- Obtained a preliminary injunction on behalf of pipe and pile supplier against a former employee who was violating his covenant not to compete. The preliminary injunction was upheld on appeal.
