How Carol Helps Clients
Carol is the leader of the Wealth & Succession Planning Group and a member of the Tax Section. She focuses her practice on tax-related matters, with a concentration on estate planning for high net worth individuals, business succession planning, charitable planning, fiduciary counseling and estate and trust administration matters. She also prepares and reviews gift tax and estate tax returns. Carol also handles gift and estate tax audits with the Internal Revenue Service.
Carol enjoys working with individuals, couples and families to minimize transfer taxes while maximizing assets passing to beneficiaries and simultaneously taking into account the client’s personal objectives and family dynamics. Carol works closely with clients and their advisors to develop a plan that is personalized to them and efficiently accomplishes their goals. When applicable, she also helps to educate the next generation on the mechanics and purposes of the estate plan put into place by their parents or grandparents.
As part of her practice, Carol drafts complex estate planning documents, including wills, revocable trusts, various types of inter vivos trusts, powers of attorney and advance health care directives. She also prepares organizational documents for limited partnerships, limited liability companies and 501(c)(3) charitable organizations.
