How Brad Helps Clients

Brad Kitlowski is a litigator and trial lawyer who represents clients across a broad spectrum of industries in complex antitrust and other commercial disputes, class actions, and multidistrict litigation in federal and state courts.  Brad has substantial experience in litigation involving life science companies, and with estates and trusts litigation in Orphans’ Court Divisions of Pennsylvania state courts. He is a member of the firm’s Life Sciences Industry Team, Antitrust Class Action Team, and Estates and Trusts Litigation Practice Group.

Brad also actively pursues pro bono opportunities, including the representation of prisoners pursuing civil rights claims in federal courts, and the representation of clients before Administrative Law Judges on appeals from denied Social Security claims. He currently leads the Project H.E.L.P. (Homeless Experience Legal Protection) Clinic for the Pittsburgh community and serves as the head of the firm's Protection From Abuse program in the Pittsburgh office.

Prior to Buchanan, Brad served as a law clerk to the Honorable Joy Flowers Conti, U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, from 2008-2010.

Outside the Office

Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Brad loves outdoor activities and sports. While attending Cornell University, Brad was a member of the varsity football team. In 2004, he served as a team captain and was named Academic All-Ivy League and CoSIDA Academic All-District I.

• Represents generic pharmaceuticals manufacturer in defense of antitrust actions involving more than 125 products commenced by State Attorneys General for 48 states and various classes of plaintiffs
• Negotiated a favorable settlement of an estate dispute pending in Orphans’ Court involving a multi-million dollar business
• Obtained summary judgment on numerous issues presented in a dispute concerning a 99-year lease of a railroad and related properties, obtained a favorable bench trial verdict, and obtained affirmance on appeal by a federal circuit court in a precedential opinion
• Obtained summary judgment for a heavy equipment manufacturer in a products liability lawsuit, which was affirmed on appeal by a federal circuit court
• Drafted and presented various petitions in Orphans' Court, including petitions related to special needs trusts and incapacitated persons
