Previously practicing as in-house counsel for a Fortune 200 company for more than 27 years, Tom began his post-retirement career at Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney in the Fall of 2007. His primary focus is in real estate and title law. Tom also is knowledgeable in bankruptcy, the Uniform Commercial Code and general commercial law. Since joining the firm, he has been involved in numerous large and small transactions for many of our real estate and banking clients.
In his previous role as sole attorney dealing with North American real estate matters, Tom handled the sales, purchases and leases of commercial and industrial real estate in a multi-state corporate real estate practice, including transaction structuring, title, financial and environmental issues, as well as all miscellaneous real estate matters relating to company facilities such as easements, licenses and mineral holdings.
Tom also served as assistant secretary for his previous employer, actively participated in the operation of the corporate secretary function and provided counsel to the corporate secretary, chairman and all members of top management regarding all corporate governance matters affecting the corporation and its board of directors.
Lastly, for most of his career, Tom had primary responsibility for all bankruptcy and credit issues as well as import and transportation law matters affecting the company, including litigation supervision in his areas of accountability.
