Stephen C. Gierasch, managing shareholder of the firm’s Harrisburg office, was quoted in The Legal Intelligencer in an article about the strength of the market in Harrisburg and Lancaster. The article, titled “Harrisburg and Lancaster Firms Looking Up, Heading South,” describes not only the demand for services in those two cities, but how some firms in the area are also expanding their practices in Maryland.

“Baltimore has migrated north and Philadelphia has migrated west,” explains Gierasch, adding that greater “economic vitality” was brought by the population increase.

Gierasch also explains that the firm has seen an increase in transactional work in Lancaster due to the expansion of companies in the area and the increased interest of private equity firms to buy stakes in companies. He notes that merger and acquisition activity has been particularly active, although regulatory work has also remained strong.

Lancaster “has an excellent stable of businesses that are very well run and well operated, and we, from a representation standpoint, have been doing a lot of work with Lancaster-based businesses,” he continues.
