Miami / Tampa – April 27, 2015 – Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney’s Rhea F. Law will receive the 2015 “Most Powerful and Influential Women of Florida” award, a recognition that highlights high-ranking female executives in various industries who exhibit the tenacity it takes to excel in their field. Law will be honored on Thursday, April 30 with a breakfast ceremony at the Sixth Annual Florida Diversity and Leadership Conference hosted at the Kovens Conference Center in North Miami. The Florida Diversity and Leadership Conference provides local and statewide business leaders with an opportunity to support and establish business development ideals geared towards inclusiveness at all levels.

Law serves as chair of the Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney’s Florida offices and is a member of the Board of Directors. She focuses her law practices in the areas of government, environmental law and land use. With more than 30 years of experience, Law handles entitlement, permitting and zoning matters with specific emphasis on commercial, industrial and residential mixed use developments throughout Florida.

As a fifth generation Floridian, Law has been intimately involved with the organizations that drive growth and economic development within the state. She has held top leadership positions with local economic development organizations and has spent countless hours advocating for Florida’s future as a premier location for attracting businesses in the healthcare, financial, technology and retail sectors.

Law was appointed by Governor Bush to serve on the board of the Florida Council of 100 where she is currently the chair. The goal of the organization is to bring together strategic thinkers and leaders who can have a major positive effect on Florida public policy and enhance the quality of life and economic well-being of all Floridians.

She has been named one of the Top 50 Female Lawyers four times and was selected by her peers for Florida Super Lawyers® and The Best Lawyers in America® since 2006.

She earned her law degree from Stetson University College of Law, her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Florida, an Honorary Doctor of Business Administration degree from Webber International University and the Honorary Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine.
