Mark R. Hornak, a shareholder in the Litigation Section of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney's Pittsburgh office, was recognized in numerous articles published on December 1, 2010.  The articles noted the fact that Hornak was nominated as a judge for the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania by President Obama.

According to one article in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, "Mark Raymond Hornak, 54, a partner at the Downtown firm of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, was among seven lawyers nationwide nominated for the federal bench Wednesday by President Barack Obama.  He will now face confirmation by the Senate."

Another article in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review went on to say, "Sen. Bob Casey, D-Scranton, who along with Sen. Arlen Specter, D-Philadelphia, recommended Hornak to the president, was pleased with the nomination."

The Tribune-Review quoted Sen. Casey as saying, "Mark has long been recognized throughout the Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania legal communities as a superb lawyer. I hope that the Senate will quickly take up his nomination."
