Olivia has experience representing both corporations and individual clients in a variety of immigration matters, with a particular focus on E-2 treaty investment visas, L-1A and L-1B intracompany transferee visas and permanent residence sponsorship through the Labor Certification (PERM) process and the EB-1C multinational manager or executive category. Olivia also has a wealth of experience representing individuals applying for permanent residence through the EB-1A extraordinary ability category and EB-2 exceptional ability category and the national interest waiver process.

Olivia is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and serves AILA South Florida as a member of the Business and Investment Committee and the Wellness Committee. In February 2020, Olivia presented as a Panelist on EB-1A, EB-2 and National Interest Waiver immigrant categories at the AILA South Florida 41st Annual Immigration Law Update (2020). The AILA South Florida Law Update is one of the largest immigration conferences in the country, attended by 450 attorneys and sponsors.

Olivia received her law degree from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2015. She focused her studies on immigration and international law, earning the Certificate in International and Comparative Law. In 2014, she interned for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, where she assisted attorneys in Immigration Court and conducted legal research on a broad range of immigration issues. Since graduating, Olivia has focused her career solely on immigration and enjoys helping individuals as well as businesses achieve their immigration goals.

Olivia received her B.A in English Literature, Psychology and Iberian Studies from Florida State University in 2010, earning the Global Pathways Certificate for her demonstrated interest in international studies and the importance of intercultural competence. Between 2010 and 2011, she interned for the U.S. Department of State’s Foreign Service in the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Madrid, Spain. There, she assisted in processing immigrant and nonimmigrant visas and gained a unique perspective of consular processing and consular officer interviews. Olivia’s experience working for the U.S. Embassy instilled in her a profound desire to serve individuals seeking to immigrate to the United States, whether to settle permanently, stay temporarily, study or work.

Prior to joining Buchanan, Olivia served as an immigration associate for a Miami immigration practice, where she gained valuable experience preparing PERM labor certification applications as the leading PERM attorney.
