Niraj has a diverse practice that touches on all aspects of tax including corporate transactions, tax controversy, international planning, and federal tax research. He routinely reviews tax portfolios for the BNA Bloomberg series in foreign country taxation and transfer pricing. Niraj is also a valuable contributor on regulatory and transactional matters for the healthcare and FDA teams on issues including Medicaid/Medicare reimbursement, pharmaceutical liability, compliance with FDA regulations, and general research on HHS and FDA policies.

Outside the Office
A native of Texas, Niraj is on a constant quest to find the best Mexican restaurant in any area. In his free time, Niraj likes to volunteer (especially as a judge in the DC Urban Debate League), travel and read.

- Corporate tax issues such as CTB (Check-the-Box) Elections for partnerships, depreciation deductions for QLHI (Qualified Leasehold Improvement Property), loss limitations/COBE (Continuity of Business Enterprise) analysis, and debt-equity characterization disputes with the IRS.
- Healthcare and FDA issues such as COPD (Covered Outpatient Drug), Medicaid Rebate calculations for generic drug manufacturers, compliance with physician self-referral/physician owned hospital laws, and manufacturing requirements for food companies.
