Megan E. Thompson focuses her practice on corporate finance and financial services, including secured and unsecured loan transactions, asset-based financing, syndicated financing, acquisition financing and real estate financing.
Megan's recent representative transactions include:
- $350 million secured revolving credit facility for a borrower in the wine and spirits industry (counsel to agent)
- $115 million secured senior revolving credit facility for a borrower in the salt mining industry (counsel to agent)
- $37 million secured revolving, term loan and equipment loan facilities for private equity acquisition financing of a public company spin-off (counsel to agent)
- $28 million secured revolving, term loan and equipment loan facilities for a borrower in the transportation industry (counsel to lender)
Megan also has experience representing commercial and institutional clients with respect to property and building sales and acquisitions.
Megan was recognized as a leading lawyer in Banking & Finance in the Chambers USA 2018 and 2022 guides and was named as Associate to Watch by Chambers in 2019.
Prior to joining Buchanan, Megan was an associate at a small, Pittsburgh-based, multidisciplinary firm, where her work focused on general corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions and commercial real estate matters. In addition, prior to pursuing a legal career, Megan was a Certified Public Accountant and served as senior associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers where she focused her worked on SEC audit engagements.
