How Kevin Helps Clients

As an associate in Buchanan’s Labor & Employment section, Kevin focuses his practice on the representation of employers of all sizes during each stage of the employment litigation process, including in putative class action, single and multi-plaintiff lawsuits concerning claims for meal and rest period violations, failure to pay wages and bonuses, off-the-clock work, misclassification, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination and misappropriation of trade secrets.

Kevin proactively counsels clients on a broad spectrum of employment laws such as the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), California’s Labor Code, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), the California Family Rights Act (CFRA) and the Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA).

In addition to developing compliance policies around these laws, Kevin also has experience defending clients against claims of violation in state and federal courts and administrative agencies.

Kevin also has experience counseling start-ups, Fortune 500 companies, and high-net-worth individuals on their national and state-specific employment needs. His familiarity with the nuances of California’s labor laws have made him a unique asset to clients looking to open-up new offices in the state while ensuring compliance.

What Clients Can Expect

Kevin enjoys the opportunity to work with clients on a diverse array of matters. From developing policies, advising on day to day matters, to fiercely defending his client’s interest in court – each day presents a unique challenge. Clients can expect Kevin to immerse himself in their business and take on their challenges as his own.

Outside the Office

Kevin spends a lot of time in the water, whether it is in the pool or the ocean. He loves to surf and swim, enjoys boating, and has been known to seek out water polo scrimmages in his free time. He and his fiancé, Katey, can often be found trying out new restaurants, or experimenting with new recipes at home.
