How Joseph Helps Clients
Joe Cardosi’s practice focuses on antitrust and trade regulation counseling and transactions. Joe has experience working on antitrust issues surrounding mergers and acquisitions as well as federal and state antitrust enforcement investigations and litigation. He also counsels clients on HSR compliance and potential antitrust risk associated with contemplated transactions. He has represented clients in a variety of industries, including healthcare (providers and payers), manufacturing, defense and aerospace, energy and advertising. Joe has worked on matters involving the Federal Trade Commission, the Department of Justice and multiple state AG offices across the country.
Joe developed his expertise in antitrust law while practicing for a number of years at a large firm in Washington, D.C. Prior to joining Buchanan, Joe served as an Assistant General Counsel in the U.S. Intelligence Community, where he worked on civil and criminal matters affecting national security. He worked on issues including terrorism, espionage, fraud, privacy, immigration, family law and tort law. He also represented intelligence community interests in administrative and judicial proceedings at the local, state and federal levels.
Joe also enjoys working on a variety of pro bono matters. He has helped disabled combat veterans secure benefits through administrative appeals and worked with a number of low-income members of the community facing eviction in landlord-tenant court.
Prior to law school, Joe served as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army. He completed a combat deployment to Afghanistan in 2009 – 2010, where he earned the Bronze Star Medal for his service.
Joe also worked as an Economist for the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, where he helped produce periodic inflation data covering a number of chemical and energy industries.
