James Britt is the firm's Interim Chief Information Officer. In this role, he manages the firm's day-to-day technology operations and manages the implementation of Buchanan’s IT strategic plan. He works closely with the Chief Operations Officer, attorneys and senior administrative staff to develop, execute and monitor how the firm's technology objectives enable overall goals.
Jim oversees technology operations, including network engineering, desktop and end-user technologies, help desk and support teams, software engineering, project management, records, document services, and the litigation technology team. In his role, he works closely with leadership and IT Directors to continuously improve operations and push the limits of strategic possibility to enhance and advance the firm’s world class technology and technology services.
Prior to Buchanan, in his role as a consultant, Jim provided assessment and strategic planning services for law firms leveraging technology to improve business operations and client service. He has deep experience promoting technology innovation to develop new ways to deliver services driven by data analytics and the application of machine learning tools. His experience also includes significant accomplishments running IT Departments within law firms. Jim is focused on solving problems and enacting practical frameworks to govern the alignment of overall IT operations with the needs of the firm and our clients.
