As noted in a March 13, 2010, article published by The Express, Deborah M. Suder, a state government relations professional in Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney's Harrisburg office, was recently appointed to the Lock Haven University Council of Trustees.

According to the article, "[Suder] earned her bachelor of science degree in political science and pre-law at LHU and her M.A. in governmental administration from The University of Pennsylvania. In 2002, Suder received an Outstanding Young Woman of America Award and in 2009 was noted in Susquehanna Valley magazine as a Woman of Excellence. She has served on boards of directors for numerous organizations, including the Lock Haven University Alumni Association, the LHU Foundation, and the Harrisburg Regional Chamber. She has served on the Government Affairs Committee of the Pennsylvania Society of Association Executives, the Legislative and Developmental Affairs Committee of the State System of Higher Education Advocacy, and the Government Relations Committee of the Harrisburg Regional Chamber. Other civic activities include the Pennsylvania Council of Alumni Associations and service as a faculty member for leadership Harrisburg Area."

"I am thrilled to have been nominated and confirmed by the Pennsylvania Senate as a trustee to Lock Haven University," Suder said upon confirmation of her appointment. "As an alumna of The Haven, I look forward to promoting the university as well as assisting to continue the outstanding role we play in getting students prepared for their futures."

"As vice president of SCC during my years at Lock Haven and later on the alumni and Foundation boards, I have been actively waving the flag for years and will give my utmost support for the future of the university," Suder said.
