Harrisburg, Pa. – August 21, 2014 – Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney announced today that John P. Bane has joined the firm’s government relations practice. Bane brings more than a decade of experience working at the highest levels of state government as a strategist, advisor and government relations professional. He most recently served as the assistant director of government relations for the Pennsylvania State Education Association (PSEA).

“John provides extensive political experience working on and with both sides of the aisle, and was involved in some of the most high-profile and important debates facing Pennsylvania’s government while with the PSEA,” said Tom Paese, chair of Buchanan’s Government Relations practice. “His addition to the firm is another example of our commitment to providing our clients with a deeply experienced and bipartisan practice.”

Bane has helped develop and implement key campaign strategies to assist in electing pro-public education candidates on the local, state and federal levels. Prior to working at the PSEA, Bane served as deputy director for the Governor’s Office of Public Liaison under Edward G. Rendell. While in this role, he worked with local, state and federal elected officials on behalf of the governor and advised the governor on a wide range of legislative and administrative issues.

He served as a member of U.S. Congressman Tim Holden’s staff before joining the Rendell Administration.

Bane earned his Bachelor‘s Degree from Mansfield University in Pennsylvania.
