How David Helps Clients 

David Knapp focuses his practice on patent litigation, representing defendants in Hatch-Waxman litigation and in various fields of life sciences, including pharmaceuticals and biotechnology and software. He has also provided clients patent prosecution, due diligence, freedom to operate, patentability and counseling services since 2016. David received his Ph.D. in chemistry, with a research focus on novel antifungal drug development and reaction design. He was recently recognized by clients and peers in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America® 2026. David has also been recognized as a Super Lawyers® Illinois Rising Star, Intellectual Property in 2026.
