How Chris Helps Clients
Chris is an Associate in the firm's Corporate Finance and Technology section, where he works on corporate matters, including commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions, securities law compliance and general corporate governance.
Prior to Buchanan, Chris worked at a Pittsburgh firm where he drafted documents that assisted energy and natural resources clients in identifying steps that needed to be taken in order to efficiently and effectively achieve their business needs. As a summer associate at a large corporation's headquarters in Greenville, SC, he analyzed federal privacy protection statutes and regulations to inform the Privacy Officer on which laws applied to the company and the best course of action to ensure compliance.
He also had a summer fellowship at the Institute for Inclusion in the Legal Profession where he revised articles that provided law firms, bar associations, corporations and government agencies insight for business development and tools to eliminate bias.
While earning his J.D. at the University of South Carolina School of Law, Chris served as a Research Editor of the South Carolina Law Review and won the Best Writer award in his Legal Research, Analysis & Writing course.
